They've been vehemently denying it since day one, but now they are starting to give vague indications that they may eventually off it on the PC. Seems that the non stop questions about it have forced them to reconsider.

i always thought it was gonna be on PC as well as PS4/Xbone...

does look interesting

Nope. Bungie has not made a PC title since before Halo. Even the Halo PC ports were not handled by Bungie. They've been focused only on consoles for a long time now. My brother works at Bungie and he said it was rather unpleasant around the office for a long time after Destiny was announced. The one question that everyone was asking, friends, family, contacts within the industry, media outlets, was "will Destiny be released on PC". The took a very aggressive "not going to happen stance" for a while, but the pressure as never let up to the point where Activision is now pushing for Bungie to bring it to PC.

Activision does not have the final say, but the half a billion dollars they have committed to the franchise brings them a lot of influence.

It would be stellar on PC.

vehemently is my new favorite word, Thanks for that (:

Bungie has that for now Destiny will not be coming to them working on four different versions of the game, and adding on PC would be a bit too much for them. They never said that there won't be a PC version, but for now, there won't be.

Had you taken the time to actually read some of the comments in this thread, you would know that things have changed. The stance of both Bungie and Activision has changed and they are both being more open to the idea. It's far from confirmed, but what was said in April no longer applies.

What I said and posted is still relevant. I just stated why it isn't on PC right now. You're acting as if I'm ignorant or something. They may be more open to the idea, and I'm extremely glad that they are, but the fact still stands that for now there is no confirmed PC release of Destiny, and what I posted is still relevant.

He is right though. People were under the impression (including me) that this was Bungies 500 mil, or backed by the consoles. It's not. Activision has a big say in it. Activision puts games on PC's, Activision knows how big MMO games are on PC (WoW/Blizzard).

It will be on PC, no matter how many people at Bungie don't like it. Xbox One is not selling well at all. This isn't a "CoD" game and this is a game that could do gangbusters on PC. Diablo expansion sold 3 mil in under a week...The PC playerbase loves this kind of game and Activision like all companies likes money.

When the CEO is saying this would be a natural fit on PC? It is coming to PC. Activision is not turning down a crap load of money to prop up consoles. Activision/Blizzard makes a ton on PC and they know the player base.

To anyone who thinks Bungie wouldn't just phone it in if they were forced to port it to PC... LOL

Remember, this is the same company that released ODST to fulfill their contract with MS as quickly as possible.

If ODST is Bungie phoning it in, there isn't too much to worry about.

Yet you linked an article from April that is no longer valid because reps from both Activision and Bungie have made comments that go counter to what was said back in April.

Remember, this is the same company that released ODST to fulfill their contract with MS as quickly as possible.

Reach was the last game Bungie made in the Halo series, not ODST. 343 took over part of the development process for the DLC content for Reach, but the actual game was made by Bungie. My brother worked on both ODST and Reach for Bungie, and was recruited by 343 to work on Halo 4. He's been back at Bungie since production on Halo 4 was finished to work on Destiny.

ODST was never intended to be a full fledged game, and there was nothing in their contract with Microsoft that required them to make an extra game. They knew the time between Halo 3 and Reach was going to be really long, so they wanted to do something to fill that gap. It's production exceeded what could be considered DLC, so it was release as it's own game. But nothing was rushed or sacrificed in it's development. The exact opposite in fact, it ended up being a bigger game than it was originally intended to be.
