Is this a safe temperature for my cpu at idle?

My i7 3960x is at stock speeds. It runs at 35-40 degrees Celsius while idle and jumps up to 57 when heavy gaming. I have a hydro h75 with 2 noctua fans in push/pull running at 400 rpm. Is that a safe idle temperature ? I've seen Linus's temperature video by the way, just asking if my idle temps are ok. Thanks

Your temps all around are very low, no problems at all.

idle doesnt matter its load that matters and yours is fine

but seriously, anything under 90 under load is safe, and really under load is the only temp worth thinking about

I'd try 4.5 and see if your temps stay under 85 while running aida 64.

Noooo......no idiots here friend.  Except maybe that guy on that one forum, up there towards the top....no... to the left :P  Plenty of experience on OC everything from CPU to GPU located on LTT....just remember, if you smoke any part of your system, its your fault and not theirs.... :huh:  Have fun with your Rig.....not that way....weirdo :unsure:
