A PC for basic internet surfing (netflix, youtube, etc.), Gaming, and AutoCAD

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/vicenteg24/saved/JV2rxr vs http://pcpartpicker.com/user/vicenteg24/saved/gN2rxr vs http://pcpartpicker.com/user/vicenteg24/saved/8RfmP6 vs http://pcpartpicker.com/user/vicenteg24/saved/NxZ2FT

Only difference is processor, which processor is good for fast internet surfing, gaming (BF3, BF4, Titanfall, Watch_Dogs, GTA 4 & 5, COD etc.), and Auto CAD? I'm thinking the i7 4770k since I can get it for a cheap price at a microcenter. Does the i7 4790k have any other difference than the clock speed, cause I feel that I can just slightly overclock it if I want the 4770k to work like at 4790k.

A 4770k is fine, but I would recommend a 4790k.

And if you want to do overclocking, get a better motherboard. That one is cheap and only has 4+2 phase power design. You will be able to overclock, but not far.

Build: CPU: Intel Core i5 4690k | CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo | Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 | RAM: 8GB G-Skill Ares 1600Mhz CL9 | Storage: 120GB Samsung 840 Evo + WD Blue 1TB 64MB Cache + Seagate Barracuda 2TB 64MB Cache | GPU: MSI GTX 960 | Case: Cooler Master Storm Enforcer | Power Supply: EVGA 600B Non-Modular |

What's your budget for a motherboard?

Between the i7-4770k and i7-4790k, I can't say for myself, but I'm guessing that at stock clocks you won't feel a difference, but because of the improved TIM and power design on the Devil's Canyon chips, once you start overclocking, you should notice a difference.

In gaming? Probably not. Hell, there's pretty much no difference between an i5-4670K and an i7-4770K in gaming. In other applications, maybe? I'm not so sure, but I bet the i7-4970K will be faster. Noticeably faster? Maybe not. A tad faster? Probably.

While you can OC the 4770k to have the same clock speed as 4790k stock, remember that 4790k can be OC as well and will be better (provided that the silicon lottery dont f*** you up). Pretty much any process you choose there will do ok in games since games dont utilized the CPU that much, I'm not sure about AutoCAD but what I have read so far saying that AutoCad dont utilized hyperthreading, so you probably wont even need the i7? the i5 4690k should be just fine, so if you can get the i7 4770k that cheap then I think go for the 4770k instead ^^?

For Mobo, I'd suggest a MSI Z97 G45 Gaming Mobo, also you may want to change your RAM to a Red/Black or Black one cause it will look better :D

NH-D15 is too tall. Case cpu cooler clearance is 157 mm.

Vengeance memory is 52.5 mm high which will force the cooler fan to be mounted quite high, reducing cooler efficiency.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

to solve this I would need ram with a smaller heat sink right?

You need either a (different cpu cooler) or (a different case and shorter memory).

CPU coolers that would work in a Spec case:

  • AIO: H55, H60, H75, H80 - memory height is not impacted.
  • Air tower: I'm not sure that there are any that do a better job than the AIO

Alternate case, roughly same price & features:

  • Corsair Graphite 230T

Alternate memory, not definitive:

  • Corsair XMS Classic, Vengeance LP
  • G.Skill Ares
  • Crucial Ballistix Sport, Ballistix Sport VLP, Tactical, Tactical LP
  • lots of others
