I would like to get opinions on a PC I'm building that cost~ $1,200. for
gaming and streaming purposes. I plan on using dual-monitor set-up( one for gaming, one for showing stream/chat). Also, probably won't be over-clocking any-time soon until I'm more familiar with it.

Specs: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor

MSI Z87I GAMING AC Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard
MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card
Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
---Not sure to go with 2 of these SSD's or 1 SSD with and external hard drive
OCZ Fatal1ty 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Am I able to play games at moderate to high graphics @ 1080i or 1080p (not sure the difference) while streaming over the internet
without dropped fps assuming good internet connection.

Am I over spending or should i spend a little more to get better performance, or should I change some of my build? However, I still would like it in the prodigy case and not the prodigy m case b/c I'd like the idea of having a 230mm led fan in front of the black mesh panel to give the case more aesthetics.

It should do everything you're trying to do. You can probably get similar performance for cheaper or better for a similar price though.

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

Yep. I have similar settings setup I can stream BF4 on high at 720p 60 so 1080p 30 would also be possible. Can stream on ultra too, but then it sometimes dips to 50~ which is annoying.

Get an i5 instead and a GTX770. That would be better. The use Shadowplay to stream.

Your current build is pretty good. But as steffen said, gaming only needs an I5 at the most. You probably can get the best bang for your buck by going I5-4690k (since you have good cooling+ allowing for future overclocking) and GTX 770. Motherboard and ram are fine. Maybe look into a higher wattage psu. Perhaps 650w gold certification

For the storage, get a small ssd and a large HDD, this will you can keep all of your video footage on the HDD and enjoy the fast loading times of the SSD. Make sure to get a decent speed HDD, otherwise you may run into trouble recording video.

Mostly shopping from newegg or amazon or wherever pcpartpicker tells me has the cheapest deals. Im located in VA my budget would be around 1,200.00. Picking the video card and cpu seem to be the hardest for me and most expensive.

You probs want a hard-drive or another ssd because you will fill up that space pretty quick if your storing the streams or video on your machine.

I was thinking about get a external hard drive. For performance is it better to store all my games and streaming program stuff on the ssd and everything else on a hard drive. Also can I put operating system like windows 7 on an external hard drive?

OS and programs should go into the SSD

video recording goes into the HDD

and nope you cannot run OS from external HDD

Is the i7 overdoing it? how big of a difference does the shadowplay effect the quality of the stream. I'm not looking to have the best stream quality just don't want it laggy or have my game lagging while my stream is up. because upgrading to a gtx770 from a 760 is like ~+100.00

Look up some shadowplay videos on Youtube to get an idea.

A modern i5 should be plenty for streaming unless you're doing it very frequently and doing some heavier encoding. That likely isn't your case though with shadowplay.

How's something like this look instead? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZGspmG
