Are you for real?

Please how many times do you need to be told?

I wonder why nobody has mentioned the Pentium G3258 yet. Looks like it's very overclockable and it packs a lot of power. You have to invest into a slightly more expensive motherboard though (Z97) but that opens a greater upgrade path if you desire so in the future (i7 4790K).

who cares...

im sorry if i think 6 cores are better then 2, 4 hyper threads and no need to swear and most upcoming and new games recomend 6 cores or 4 if intel

What you think and what is real is a totally different story.

Stop trying, the FX lost overall, it is better at work loads but not for gaming.

The sale ended before I posted (sold out, or something), I just didn't check. So that recommendation is out anyway.

Was under the assumption you had planned a new build and form factor was limited to the mobo/what you wanted, not a pre-existing case if I'm understanding this correctly. In any case, FM2+ is a bad idea in my opinion. If you really want something to last, like I figure you are as stated before, lowest end i3 or upper-end Pentium G might be ok. Most recent cheap-ish i5's are the best, though they're out of price range.

G3450/whatever the newest one is (Haswell Refresh), i3-4150, 4460, i5-4590, used i5-3570/3570k if you want great performance for a decent price.

Do not go cheap and spend $10 less on an i3 by going with an older one. You want the most recent ~$120 price bracket i3 because they're more impacted by those ~5-10% gains than unlocked i5 processors. You can't make up for worse performance with Pentiums/I3's and you're not spending much more to get a better processor. They're still a massive waste of money seeing as i5's are less than double the price but more than double the performance outside of singlethreaded operations, and are binned so that the singlethreaded performance is still better on i5s.

The G3450 (or whatever the best Pentium Haswell Refresh is) is your best bet in my opinion because it will be on the same socket as i5s like an i3, but you're spending less than $30 for nearly equal performance overall to that $120 i3. If you take that into consideration at all and still want an i3 because they are indeed faster by at least a tiny bit, I hope it makes you realize how terrible i3's are. $70 Pentium is like 20-25% slower I think, but half the cost.. Save your money and buy an i5.

So what do you think I should do? I was thinking I should get an i3 4150 just until I have enough money to get an i5 :) never heard of this pentium stuff???

Its all looks these days

If you are just going to get an i5 later anyway why waste the money on an i3 just save a few extra $$ and get the i5. You will be much happier you did. The i3 will just be a waste of money.
