Do you think 500 watts would be enough for  8320 and 2 r9 270s? the cx500 from corsair.

Id say not. Each card draws 150 Watts. The 8320 would draw 125 Watts. Thats 425 which doesnt include your mobo, peripherals, Hard drives and esp not overclocks. Even if those numbers are max theoretical power draws, you will be too close for comfort. Play it safe.

It has the potential to be able to do it, but it is cutting it so impossibly close that I would say get a 600W+ PSU.

The anandtech review of the 270 and 270X show the system including a single 270 using 250W in gaming or furmark. 500W should be enough. Each 270 had 1x 6pin connector, and the CX500 has 2x 6+2pin connectors with 34 Amps.

It has enough connectors and probably can supply the required Wattage, but the amps are awfully low. I don't know if that would cut it.

I'm guessing you're on a budget since you're considering the CX500. What is your budget, and can you link us the retailer you would be buying from?

I was looking at newegg but i was just wondering if 500 watts would cut it why overkill!

@Vinq Because the Wattage of a PSU is not the only thing that matters. I'm not convinced a power supply with 34A/408W on the 12V rail could support crossfired 270's.

That CX500 actually has 38A/456w on the 12v rail. I think you have mistaken it with the already discontinued CX500 V2. But still not good enough for overclocking 2x 270 imo.

OP,give us your budget and we'll give you some suggestions accordingly.
