Eira - All 'Team Red' AMD Build

I've recently been working a lot on my All AMD build, something that can show the power that an all AMD machine can really do!

 

The name for this rig is Eira, this name comes from the Welsh word for snow, which as you can tell is because the build is all white.

 

I'm still working on all the cable management (yes it's not particularly tidy) and working on a good position for the 120mm radiator for the GPU.

 

So firstly here is a breakdown of specs' and technical info:

 

CPU: AMD FX-8350 overclocked to 5.0Ghz with 1.54v and cooled with a Corsair H100i AIO

 

Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0

 

RAM: 2 x 4GB G.Skill Ares 2133Mhz

 

GPU: Sapphire R9 290X overclocked to 1200/1700 with a Kraken G10 and a Corsair H55 AIO

 

Case: NZXT Phantom Full Tower Case

 

Storage: OCZ Agility 4 256GB SSD & Samsung HD103SJ 1TB HDD

 

PSU: OCZ ZS-750W

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What do you guys think? Do you think there is anything I can improve (as mentioned before, I know the cable management sucks)?

Yeah, first step is to get the build all team RED.

 

Currently the RAM you are using is not from AMD, and AMD is a RAM manufacturer. The CPU cooler is not AMD either.

How are your socket temps using that board? I had the same one and had to ghetto mount a fan on the rear of the socket to keep it under 72 degrees @4.7Ghz

Socket temps do get quite high, i'm getting something like that done fairly soon to get those temps down.

I get these temps after 10 mins at full load:

 

VRM1: 70C

VRM2: 61C

GPU: 48C

 

I've attached part of the reference cooler over the vrm's and this helped me get those temps right dow.

I've heard these kind of temps are pretty normal for this card, especially when overclocked on this kind of caliber.

When I had that board I was upset about the poor locations for fan headers. Nice overclock on the 8350! That's close to what I had on my 6300

Clean up those cables (Maybe some zipties?) and that ghetto mounted G10 made me giggle a little.

Your GPU is not "sagging" it's completely flexing in the middle
