Here's a few pics of the Crucial M500 SSD, I'm thinking of having my SSD's on display and doing a custom colour on them, if anyone has any info / help they want to throw my way regarding re painting SSD's please let me know  :D

Have you looked into getting self adeshive backed sticky progect paper and make a nice design and print it out then peel the backer paper off and stick it to the drive? or use photo paper for better / gloss finish and use a spray adheasive and apply to a clean dry hard drive, then after its set use a finishing clear lacour UV protective spray in thin coats and warm clean area to dry and make it also nice and protected.

cheap and effective ways and you can do fancy drawings and designs in a paint program then just print them off, maybe do some trials first to get the right size etc and cut off the excess.

just dont glue or spray anything on or near the connection pins & mounting screw holes etc.

just an idea..

got to love Asus components

The rad in the h105 is much thicker.

You Sir are correct, I have looked this up and it is do able but you have to offset the rad, will think about it, but may end up going for the H100i, will keep you all posted!

how so? The H100 fits aren't they the same except the pump/cpu cooler part?

Nope, the H105 has a thicker rad that will cause it to hit your mobo

  • 2 weeks later...

Dude - Brilliant build and I'm actually doing a very similar build in the next few weeks. Just working through my parts list and fine tuning a few parts.

One question I had is about the 350D case and the 5 expansion slots vs. the maximus VII. The Motherboard only has 2 expansion slots for GPU cards. Do those slots align to the 1st and 4th slot on the case so that there is room between the GPU's?

I'm going to start with only one graphics card but will a 2nd later this year so want to make sure  before I commit to a case and MB that they can SLI, with a gap in between to help with cooling.

Thanks in advance and I can't wait to watch you finish your build.

Good Luck

Nice looking RAM, the colour scheme will work well with your ROG board. Never thought I would be one of those people who cares about a colour scheme...amazing what a window on a case makes you do.

Everyone hates black/red builds but personally I love them.  I prefer the purple/orange color scheme but red/black's right up there  :D

You can connect that audio like this: http://i.imgur.com/1VU02NQ.jpg

Also why don't you just use onboard audio for front?

Also can't wait to see more :)
