the cable that comes from the company is connected to the wan and my computer is connected to one of the 4 extention lan ports in the router

reset the router

The reset button, which is labeled "Reset" on the back of the router, is the quickest way to restore defaults; simply press the button for more than five seconds. However, if you're resetting the router after upgrading the firmware, you may need to additionally unplug the router, wait five seconds and plug it back in after the initial reset.

Wow, best diagnosis.

OP, is your PC set up statically? Do other devices work? Have you entered any authentication details required by your ISP? Have you tried calling them asking for any help?

he cant do any of these things since he cant connect to the router to begin with via lan

he cant set it up

Hence the first one. If you have a static configuration, you need to - a. revise it or b. not be silly and use DHCP always. Having the wrong gateway or not being in the same subnet (potentially both) will cause this issue.

Nope.

Fresh installs will obtain network information via. DHCP. This ONLY reason to configure machines statically (in my opinion) on the machine itself is if you are presented with more than one gateway, and you want to specify which one you want to use (overriding the DHCP servers default). If you want your machine to have the same IP address on your home network, you should set that up on the router with a static lease. Your machine would also try get it's last known address anyway, which is why if you have it on DHCP, it doesn't change very often (if at all) either, as well as if you have the machine on daily, since default leases tend to be 24hr.

I don't think you can actually statically configure an iOS/Android device with network information, as an FYI.
