If you really want a headset, Siberia Elite.

If you really want a headset Qpad QH-90 and Kingston HyperX headset (same thing) is the best choice. Or Vmoda with the additional mic. All siberias break so fast.

I've had 3 break on me in 2 years and 2 people I know have also exchanged many headsets during warranty.

3 People having their headsets break does not justify saying "All siberias break so fast."

Idk. I have read many reviews. Also the thing is either mic breaks or one of the cups dies. Same issue, so it's definitely not about how you use it.

Also product reviews on amazon and newegg are missleading since most people don't write that theirs broke after a whille.

The fact that the sound quality is about as good as someone farting 24/7, the microphone really being worse than my Zalman ZM-mic1 that I bought for €8 including shipping does justify the fact not to buy it, however. I can use that argument for pretty much ANY gaming headset, maybe except the Sennheiser PC series.

Just get headphones and an attachable/stand mic. It's MUCH better bang for your buck from basically any pricerange.

I love StarCraft

I would do that but I just want a all in one package

Modmic essentially gives you an all-in-one package. If you're really not willing to go with headphones, it barely matters. Just pick a pricerange and choose one between that. I just know that game peripheral producers have 0 skill in making decent headsets that break very easily, so the build quality, sound, and mic quality will all pretty much be the same. The Siberia won't differ much from the Carcharias or any turtle-beach headset for example.

The only gaming headset I've had for a long time was the Roccat Kave. Had pretty cool 5.1 surround sound with okay-ish bass. Sadly the build quality wasn't so good so, never again.

I love StarCraft

If you're gonna go wireless and/or expensive, go with the Astro A50s. They're sexy and amazing mic quality, good range and battery life..

If you want something proper, go with some low-mid range AudioTechnicas and a Mod Mic 2.3/4.0 (2.3 is like $25 if they still sell it, 4.0 is ~$45? I think). This is assuming the budget is something like $220-$300. There are some decent Sennheisers but I can't differentiate one from another very well, 448s or something are supposed to be nice, right? Under $300 for those I believe.

  • 5 weeks later...

Should I get a Steelseries Siberia Elite Headset or a Corsair Vengeance 2100 or anything else that you might think?

I would recommend both. Also this one if your getting a standalone mic like me: http://steelseries.com/products/audio/steelseries-9h   but for me, I'm getting the Steelseries Siberia elite. Because it has better sound than the 2100's! Also I love Steelseries USB sound card, I am excited to see how good it is.

For the price of a Siberia Elite you can get a Beyerdynamic DT770 and a ModMic 4.0 which will give you a massive quality boost compared to ANY gaming headset. This setup may look not as good as one of these shiny gaming headsets but if you're more the quality guy you will be really happy with proper headphones and a modmic. Just have a look on youtube and listen to some samples of the Siberia Elite.

This video shows the overall microphone quality which sounds like sitting in a bathtub.

I had to decide last week when my G35 broke and I am really happy that I listened to the guys and didn't buy the Elite.

If you think the modmic is to expensive, you can get a Zalman ZM-MIC1 instead. Both of the these mics have outstanding quality compared to any other gaming headsets mic.
