So basically I've been running the same simple A to B backup solution for my phone for the last 6 years.

Xiaomi mi 9t goes into my network, Goodsync sees it from my windows server 2019 its on, it fetches any changes BUT DOES NOT DELETE anything on the device and thats it. It's just a regular shared network folder called Phone Copy which then goes into the backup flow.

Its been working heaps fine till last week and I finally take the time to look at it. For some reason Goodsync is no longer allowed to read and copy from my android device and I've been trying to find a way around it. I see things like syncthing and whatnot but they SYNC the device they cannot stabily do a A to B COPY. Anyone got some simple free software that can just do a simple A to B copy. I don't know why it's suddenly so hard to do and why all my android devices suddenly no longer do the simple setup thats always worked.

I would look more into it but I am leaving on vacation tomorrow and wanted to empty my phone a bit only to check up on the copy and notice its been dead for 2 weeks.

Anyone got some advice on just a super basic A to B copy that doesnt sync or anything. I dont need that at all. I do not want files deleted ever as its genuinly just for documents, pictures and DCIM on my phone.

Im setting immich up later but well for now I need something to still do this job.

Currently just copying everything over the network manually using the old file manager + app and works fine its just slow.

Syncthing can do it despite the name. Yes syncing is the default but you can set each share to only work one way if you want.

I did to a recieve only and the ignore delete but it freaks out with sync errors then. Its odd as with others it seems to work but not that one

Apps needs to have permission for specific folders only for some time (they cannot access anything else) and you cannot use some default folders. I don't know this app, but if it's recently updated (like in last few years), it should ask for permission while you provide a folder to sync form.

Also, maybe migrate to Nextcloud. You can add any folder that will be monitored for new files that will be sent to the server. Not only images. I use it so sync photos, backups, documents etc.
