Help with new PC build.

Go to solution Solved by P e r s e p h o n e,

The PC will mostly be used for gaming and a little bit of powerpoint and excel use. The budget for the build is from 500 to 600$. Since I'm limited to only some parts for a new PC, because I ordering the parts from amazon.co.uk will be just too expensive. As for the looks of the PC it really doesn't matter, all black will do nicely. I will most likely upgrade some parts later on, but for now this is just a budget PC. I've made some changes to the partslist, is it any good now? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/AurisxD/saved/FRndnQ

I think this is a pretty good build. If you can find similar pricing of Cacao's listed budget build there in the U.K. that would be better.

Hello everyone, I would like to get some advice about my first PC build. I've already picked every single part for the PC and I would like to know if everything is okay, are the parts compatible with each other.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/AurisxD/saved/cxTPxr

This is going to be my first time build a PC, but I watched a couple of build guides and I think it shouldn't be that hard.

Thanks in advance.

The CPU Choice was one I went with as well with my build at first until I took a look at the FX-6300 which benchmarks allot better than the Athlon.

I'd always ask a person if they asked themselves what the purpose of their build is, their budget, and if there are any circumstances such as upgradability and form factor. Knowing that have you thought about things of that nature? Although less important; do you care about the look of your build? Another piece of advice I'd always iterate is does it make sense for you to save a bit more and spend a bit more later. Sometimes depending on the price point of your build it is optimal to save a bit more for that performance gain. In the end the price to performance is what makes the difference and sometimes by waiting just a bit and spending a little more you get a better price to performance ratio. That last advice is advocated by Linus himself.

You gotta do you girl. I always say you gotta do you. And if he's doing him, then who's doing you? Because right now, it seems like no one's doing you.

I'd just put a 270x in there and you'd have something near perfect.

I know with the price point listed you get quite the competition to consoles however don't you think the extra price to performance ratio would have been worth it with the r9 270x?

When I originally made the video, the total was like 510$ or something, now you can fit a 270x in 500$.

Holy crap. That's dirt cheap for something that powerful. You should make certain options available for different form factors if you can. Also somewhere towards the end of the video tell people to splurge a little here and there to get a cool looking rig custom to your taste. Personally I'd spend an extra 50 dollars just to have an awesome case. I feel like that would make it more attractive to a prospector. I don't know why but I was wondering whether or not to like this for its awesomeness then I saw your title and was like awww.

Yeah I added a few extras at the end, including a case ;)

You can get some pretty badass hardware for very little money nowadays.
