HI all,

I'm wanting some help with my storage system I have 6TB of HDDs in my computer and want to upgrade them to M.2s, iv done some googling and turns out you need to have bifurcation on you motherboard to be able to use an expatiation card using PCIE but my motherboard doesn't have this, can you get PCIE cards that have bifurcation on board and are there any cheap option im looking to spend around £150 mark if needed but less would be better.

Yes. They use a PCIe switch to route to multiple M.2 slots. The two slot version can be reasonably priced, but the four/eight slot ones can get expensive. Also, they tend to be generic Chinese designs with little-to-no end-user support. (I have one; they do work, FWIW.)

Full system specs?

What drives do you want to use? Why not get a single 8TB SSD here instead of multiple drives?

I9-12900K
96GB RAM
GTX 4070
corsair 1000W
Samsung 970 Evo 1TB main drive, 870 QVO 2TB,
Seagate 2TB, 3TB, 4TB,

Crucial 2TB, 4TB

870 QVO is currently in a PCIE card which is when i found out that i couldnt have multiple drive as i got 3 drives off an auction site for cheap (have checked to make sure all works) I have two other M.2 Drives to put in

I would like to grab a 4 slot card, would you have any recommendations for one ?

Why is the 870 QVO in a PCIE card? Thats a SATA SSD, put that in a SATA bay so it doesn't use a PCIE slot.

Full system specs please. I don't see a board listed.

Your paying a good amount for a gen 4 switched card, your typically much better off just getting a single large 8TB drive here I'd guess.

The best solution I see here is replacing your smaller SSD with larger drives. You can get adapters with pcie switches, but those aren't cheap typically and fairly power hungry.  Or get SATA SSDs.
