I'm using a GTX 970 and it is capping out on just about everything. I get a score of 18 frames on MSI Kombustor and I'm not sure if that's normal for this gpu. In addition would a 1650 perform better?

The 1650 is a little bit faster overall but not worth it as an upgrade.

What games are you playing that its capping out on?

low graphics on Roblox and minecraft and a lot of fps games, also some unity games. I have a I5-4690k and it's integrated graphics are performing better.

The 970 is leagues better than the integrated graphics on a 4th gen Intel CPU. Something is very wrong. What are the temps on the card? Has it ever been cleaned and re-pasted?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

for some more context on that performance. on a roblox game i play the gpu can handle the graphics at a 2/10 and integrated can handle max.

minecraft you can give the game more ram might help default is like 2gb. have to do it for each install thow.

Start the Minecraft launcher & go to the installation tab. Click on the three dots next to your version & select „Edit”. Go to “More options“ and find “JVM Arguments” in the Java settings. Change the command “-Xmx2G” to “-Xmx[desired amount of RAM in gigabytes]G”.

optifine also helps too but it might not be needed anymore?
