Hello! Need some help. I am an occasional Doordasher, but after months of the app not successfully verifying my ID and support being no help, the app now tells me it needs to be updated to work. It won't let me get past the initial splash screen. Problem is, Google Play won't let me update it as it says it is no longer compatible with my device. I was gonna try to force install it anyway but couldn't find anywhere to download the APK. If anyone here knows if and how to do that, or if there is a workaround to make the old version work again, that would really be swell. Phone is running Android 6 and current app says it need Android 9. I'll believe that after I prove it.

(also wouldn't mind reinstalling the mlp gameloft app)

Don't download and install APKs from the internet OF something that deals with your livelihood and/or money.

As the other two mentioned, trying to have your phone run a more modern Android is safer and likelier to work.

What's your device?

I've gotten to know some stuff, but am far from omniscient, so don't take my advice as gospel and wait for other opinions - I just like throwing in my two cents when I can.

If doordashing is your main source of money, get a newer phone. It doesn't even have to be high end or from this year, something like a Samsung A series or and old iPhone would do the trick.

As the other commentators said, don't risk getting software from shady sources if it will directly risk your livelihood.

if the app is built towards android 9, you will need android 9 (or ideally, newer..)

i'd say find whatever is the most affordable smartphone that's on one of the newest 2-3 versions of android.

Simply put the new android software development kit doesn't run below android 9 so you have to get a new phone or root it to install a newer android version. There is no way around it
