I'm thinking of going from my current i7-4770k to the i7-4790k.

Is it worth it? Considering all I have to do is sell my i7-4770k for about $200, it's literally been used for about a month only.

Is it worth it? All I'll be paying out of pocket is $75 for the i7-4790k basically, let me know! I'm thinking about it!!

I just realized the 4790K is now on Newegg.. If you ask me the 100mhz is not worth it. they're pretty much the same processor.

Main: i7 2600 | ASUS P8Z68-V | 2x4GB Vengeance 1600 | GTX 580 | WD Blue 1TB | Antec TP-650C | NH U12S | W7 x64

Backup: X6 1090T | MSI K9A2 Platinum | 4x2GB XMS2 800 | GTX 550Ti | WD Blue 1TB |  Antec VP-450 | CM TX3 | W7 x64

@Slayher

What kind of stuff do you use your machine for?  Gaming?  Work?  What kind of work?  Streaming?

Moving from a 4770k to a 4790k wont be anything monumental, definitely not worth $75 and some hassle.

Buy an SSD, or a better GPU

Gaming, rendering, streaming, work related.

Good to know, and yeah I think I'll work on getting a new GPU something better than my current!

For what you do, your 4770k is plenty strong, and is at a very nice 4.7Ghz which is nothing to scoff at.  If you had a poor overclocking chip, I would maybe be a little more inclined to say go for the 4790k, but that isn't the case.

Buy an SSD, and save your money until the 800s are out and upgrade your GPU then.

how about going from 2500k @ 4.4 to 4690k?  is it worth it or just wait for Broadwell?

Are you unsatisfied with your current performance?  If yes, then upgrade, if no, then wait until you are unsatisfied with your performance then upgrade.
