4790K MASSIVE OC's ON AIR!!!!!!!

I first want to see review without binned chips and then i maybe thing about upgrading from Sandy Bridge, if they still suck ill wait for Sky lake.

So at Computex MSI got 5.498Ghz on air and liquid cooling. Yes this might have been a binned chip but look at it this way, really bad chips will be able to get in the 4.7Ghz range, medium range chips will be able to get 5.0~5.2Ghz and really good ones will most likely be able to get 5.3Ghz+. This is amazing and I will defiantly be getting one, just wish they would have OCd' the Pentium too, lol 

 

People are pointing out that some where using LN2 boxs with fans and rads, also all CPU's WERE binned. But still your gonna get a really good OC on these chips.

 

I heard that there is actually a thermal compound issue with the ship. Up on the slide show they said each team replaced the internal thermal compound. Hopefully intel fixes this issue but even if they don't it doesn't seem like a hard fix. Heard this from Tek syndicates newest Video

No they didnt, go back and rewatch. Last year Intel said the paste was not the OC problem and everybody delided. This year they expressed the point that the thermal paste had been improved even though Intel originally said that wasnt the problem.

Pro overclockers would likely delid and put the LN2 pot straight on the die, maybe with some liquid metal TIM inbetween

I lost the lottery with my 4770K and kinda want to upgrade to the new 4790K just so I can actually overclock it, also are the new Z99 boards compatible with the next broadwell chip CPU's?

if this chip is a good representative of devils canyon, then intel fail again and just bin the chip and is trying to steal our money, but is just one chip and its still to soon
