Salvageable?

Is this gone gone or should I attempt to straighten and then test with just pump and water attached to test for leaks?

 

Fins are easy to strighten, just a craft knife and move them into place.

 

Planning to use soft wood and then tap against it with rubber hammer gently until it straightens

Just leave it as is this wont have any impact. You are much more likely to do more damage straightening this out. So best advice is test for leaks and if fine DO NOT straighten.

doesn't look that bad and doesn't look that hard to straighten either but the odds of doing a bigger damage are so damn high that i wouldn't bother at all...

 

if it's new i'd ask for an RMA, otherwise i'll leave it as it is, you'll be the only one knowing that the radiator is damaged if it has no other damage anywhere

If you just bought it, just return it.

 

I would be concerned with the bend in the water tube portion. The fins can and will bend and aren't a big problem. But the wet part can leak over time. And if you need to RMA it in 2 years, manufacturer will (rightfully) deny warranty due to physical damage. 

 

 

If this isn't a new item with right to return, try to straighten the fins a bit. But don't bend the water tube.

Looks good. 30 min in.

 

Pressure is high because it's just the pump and rads and 4 fans so water doesn't heat up from the pump.

 

So far no leaks.

Yeah its just cosmetic damage. Slap a fan on top and you'll never see
