$50 budget for 2.1 speakers. What would you recommend ?

Hey guys, I currently have 2.0 speakers that are about 12 years old. 4" 'sub' and 2" tweeters. Totally lacking bass, and I love bass.

Does anyone have experience with a 2.1 PC speaker system that has enough bass for a 12"x10" room and enough of a high note to get decent treble ? At $50 ?

For that price, Logitech's speakers are a suitable option. Nothing amazing obviously, but their subwoofers are alright for the lows.

I'm still running an 8+ year old Logitech 2.1 Set and it still surprises me on how great the sound quality is.

I'm afraid good speakers and small budgets don't work.    If you are happy with the sound your current speakers make then I would shop around secondhand stores and garage sales for a sub to compliment them.

Just enough base to feel some rumble in game or movies sitting close to the computer. My speakers can't even get that deeper bass, it's more of a tinny bass.

Worthwhile to step up to Edifiers ? Or is this more of a great balance type system ?

They're all cheap speakers that perform more or less the same. Get the one you think looks the best.

The Edifier's satellite speakers are probably slightly better because they have both a mid woofer and a tweeter, but the sub should be about the same.

Alright. Was more concerned of absolutely no treble coming out of these 'satellite drivers', but I guess I'll just grab the cheapest, probably big box, so I can return them without occuring the 15% restocking fee. Thank you for the help. Will post a review when I get them next weekend.
