What do you all think about duckduckgo pushing ai into their Browser and search machine. I personally have been using duckduckgo as my search engine for years and even the mobile browser since it was only out for beta. I am fine with the ai features because they are useful and you can turn them off. Also you don't to be logged into anything. On the other hand, it isn't the best ai. What are your options about it?

I always disable stuff like that right away, and have done so with duckduckgo (though Kagi is my primary search engine). AI and search have always seemed like a bad match to me, since I go to them for completely different things. With search, I'm looking for some web content that I'm sure exists.

With an LLM (the AI they've got), I'm looking for answers to questions which have many possible right answers, like writing help with specific paragraphs or sentences.

I'm never gonna do a web search for "re-write this code comment to be shorter but contain the important info $insertSomeComment" and I'm never gonna do ask an LLM what the libarr website is.
