Hey everyone, im looking to build a mid-range gaming comp, or atleast i think its mid-range, havnt build a comp for years, so i have a few things im unsure about, but first a list of the items im looking at atm.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/C6NhK8

What i would like to know is, if everything will work good together, or if something should be changed, would like to keep the price in the £600-700 range. Later on i do plan on adding a SSD, and a CPU cooler so i can overclock. When it come to the mobo i am realy lost, i know i can get both cheaper and ofc alot more expensive, but what would be best for my build, and still keeping the cost down, and same when it come to the RAM, from what i been reading 8GB should be enough, but upgrading to 16GB would be ok.

Hope to get a few pointers, and + / - about the build, and ofc how to change the -

Thanks.

I would try and wiggle a 770 or 280X in there, but it's still good. Everything is fine.

Everything else and what you've said is accurate.

significantly better, doesn't cost significantly more.

Looks pretty decent to me :)
I would suggest adding a 120gb SSD if you can find a cheap one. Maybe reduce your PSU to a 500W unless you plan to add more GPUs.

I've gotten you a nice Z97 motherboard, changed the overpriced RAM, added a better HDD (in my opinion) and saved a little, kept your case and writer, and replaced the 650W PSU with a quality 550W XFX PSU, which will be more than enough wattage you will need in your build. All this while actually saving you about 25 pounds, and oh, did I mention I managed to fit in the R9 280X?

Happy building :)

Have been looking at both of them, and after reading all the comments, and the forum i think ill add the 280x.

Thanks for the feed back

SSD is planned, and if ill get it when i get everything else or abit later is the only thing im unsure of, PSU is for 2 reasons, it keeps my options open for future upgrades, and its fully modular.

Thanks for the feed back

I have that mobo and it runs nicely

good compromise between reliability and cost

n.b

a case is something you can carry into new builds, might as well buy a nice one first time and keep it for all future builds.

Dont think ill get the case i have in the build, last few days i been looking around on others, and mainly for the reason you just said. Been looking at the NZXT Phantom serie, main this one http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-case-caph630g1

Thanks for the feed back.

Try fitting a R9 280x or a 770 on the build, it is going to be worth it.

After the comments and reading the forum i will upgrade to the 280x

Thanks for the feed back.

Looks like a good build, and being cheaper is ofc a great thing, and got the 280x, will have a look at this again before i order anything.

Thanks for the feed back.

Cut some costs here and there to get a 280x in. Could get a 770 and stay within budget too.

Also an SSD for faster boot time and some key programs.

Also looks like a good build, and got everything in it, so will also have a look at this before i make my final decision.

Thanks for the feed back
