Hey guys, i will buy a new gaming rig this summer. it will contain 2 r9 290x matrix, an i7 4790k and i will also be watercooling. i will play at 4k. what FPS will I be getting with overclocking with some of the most demanding games without anti aliasing?  (from 1080 MHZ boost clock to something like 1.2 GHZ on each card). the reason of no AA is well, its 4k. i dont need it.
edit: yeah, i asked here instead of searching for benchmarks because I couldnt find any good ones. sorry for that and thank you in advance

You will get horrible fps with only one card at 4k

You need at least 2 290xs or 780tis

You clearly have no clue.

This is correct. I'd recommend just getting 2 r9 290s (tri x or pcs+).

You will get in the 40s in most new games at ultra settings with some AA.

No basically every game will run at around 30fps with a single 290x @ 4k at max settings

Downscaling looks like crap, you might as well buy a 1440p screen instead of dowscaling all your games

i will be crossfiring, watercooling and overclocking as much as possible. no need to turn on AA. i think ill be getting nice framerates with 2 R9 290X MATRIX with no aa since it is not needed. i will also be crossfiring. im saying CROSSFIRE all the time, because everyone is talking about 1 card

instead of the Asus matrix

how about going for a cheaper range of dual 290X option and then go all out watercooling?

i wont be crossfiring and watercooling immediately

ok point taken but you are spending way too much for just extreme factory OC and a big fat air cooler

the 290X DCU II will be a much better buy if you like the Asus cooler

but just a heads up one single 290X can power a 1440P just fine but will struggle with 4K res

watercooling. i just want something to overclock really well.

Well there's still no guarantee of that no mater how much your gpu cost... The matrix is marketed towards ln2 overclockers, that's why it has the cold debug heater.

the Asus DCU II is more than enough for watercooling

no need for the matrix version

If you really want a high end 290X, don't go for the matrix. While the cooler is fine in Nvidia cards, it just plain can't keep up on AMD cards, and is always pretty loud. Watch TTL's review of it. I would go with a 290X Lightning. On air I've gotten 1215MHz core clock and 1600MHz memory clock. :)

Also, you'll be needing two of these AT LEAST to game at 4K and even then it'll be at about 40 fps in most titles.

CPU: 5930K @ 4.5GHz | GPU: Zotac GTX 980Ti AMP! Extreme edition @ 1503MHz/7400MHz | RAM: 16GB Corsair Dom Plat @ 2667MHz CAS 13 | Motherboard: Asus X99 Sabertooth | Boot Drive: 400GB Intel 750 Series NVMe SSD | PSU: Corsair HX1000i | Monitor: Dell U2713HM 1440p monitor
