Hey everyone, does anybody know what's up with my PC? Recently just had this built and my PC's working fine, I was even able to play some games, but this red light's makin' me nervous LOL. (Sorry, not well-versed in this particular area.)

4. It shows that is where your debug LEDs are. One of them is Boot LED, which turns on when your device is booted to an operating system.

Reading the manual is the first place you should go to.

If the machine is working, it's fine.
Nothing to worry about and it's probrably nothing more than a RAM circuit power LED working.

Game on.

It's one of the Debug LEDs. Without knowing which one it is, it's impossible to say why it could be on. It's likely something along the lines of the GPU or boot device took a bit longer to initialize than expected so the debug LEDs think that there's a problem that isn't there, but without doing any further investigation you can't say for certain.

That said, if the system is working fine, ignore it.

Usually this LED should only turn on when it's initializing the boot devices, then turn off, it's rare for it to stay on when you're actually in the OS.

Some boards (Not all of course) will have an LED lit while it's in operation in certain spots on the board.
The board I have setup for the 754 comp I'm in (DFI NF4-X Infinity) has one near the RAM slots that's always "On" when it's running.

Yeah, but not the Debug LEDs that are lit up in that photo on that board.

Must agree, if it's a debug LED and it's staying on there has to be a reason why and probrably due to something you related to above, triggering it but in the end it's not a problem..... Except for the LED itself being on.

I'd have to think maybe something to do with RAM speed, voltage or...... Something.
Could be anything at this point but as long as the machine is working properly, I'd only worry about it when things DO start acting up and refer to it as the arrow that points to the prime suspect when that happens.

Eh, not likely. The RAM Debug LED only lights up during memory training or if the memory fails training, I've never seen a system boot and that light still be on. Boot and VGA though if I'm trying I can usually make them stay on on command (GPU LED is the easiest, if you just use a GPU that's old enough that the motherboard can't detect it but the OS can).

Still though, unless you actively are having issues, it's not something to worry about. That is unless you really can't stand that red LED being on for aesthetic reasons

This is what I posted previously was relating to.
I know if RAM fails to train during boot it can be caused by RAM speed being set too high (Or just wrong) in the BIOS, not enough voltage to keep it stable enough to train and so on.

In this case it's not failing to train nor seems unstable enough to cause a crash or lockup. Maybe if we can hear from others with this same make & model board they can tell us if this is happening with their boards as well.....
You never know right?

We do agree however as long as the machine is working properly, it's not a big deal "As Is".
