What Is Wrong With My System?!

What could cause microstutters on windows/desktop? Happens everyday randomly. Could be watching youtube, movies, TV Shows, or anime on streaming services.

It will just locks my system up to like 1- 2fps, feels like anyway. Sometimes it even turns off my display and breaking my RGB in my PC to default color shifting. It does this "slow down/stutters" as I write this. So took a while to finally post. If anyone knows...I'm in desperate need for assistance with this. 

I'll eventually get Task manager up as it's happening and see 0.01 - 0.01 on cpu ghz as it's stuttering and locking itself to unable to use during this while I wait for things to finally come up to see if anything I notice.

Things I've done thus far:

testing CPU, GPU, RAM, replacing PSU, Two different RAM kits both passed in memtest

Programs used: OCCT, CInebench, furmark, prime95, memtest64+

No OC ever done on this build as issues on stock.

Build date of 1/27/2024  Could it be the motherboard this entire time?

Many things. Both software and hardware.
Have you updated the BIOS? That CPU reporting 0.1GHz is pretty suspect.

My software is pretty light. Just normal (what I believe is normal) like game apps and obs, msi afterburner. Only exotic would be signalRGB I think.

 

I haven't but there was only an Agesa thing for my board and it's stuck in beta status. I guess I can try though. Other version after was for 9000 series CPUS. I am on 3.10 there is a 3.20. I just read to many horror stories of updating to latest ASRock bios.

Yeah, I don't know if that is a problem or only cause its unusable at the time once it comes up. I bought it on launch day (7800X3D) 4/6/23.

Interesting. Have you done the microcode updates? Also DDU? And SFC/DISM?
How frequent is the problem?

Microcode like chipset from AMD? I believe so, no bios say anything about it after current bios just 9000 series and Agesa Patches.

Yes DDU twice. SFC and DISM. Even reinstalled windows.

 

Everyday at random times throughout the day. I'll just be chilling on desktop or just going through files, deleting old things such as setups for apps and such and then it just happens. Stutter, freeze and lock up. Sometimes it does come back after about 5-10 minutes. Most of the time I have to hard shutdown with the physical case power button. The damnedest thing for sure. Can it be the board? Hard to believe but I'll buy a new one if it is the culprit.

Yeah, with all this I'm down to either the mobo or the CPU is defective. Any chance you have another tower or a friend with one so you can test the CPU and mobo?
Either of them should still be in warranty

I have a another tower but my current PC is on water but I can rebuild on air. Yeah I bought warranty on board from microcenter and CPU should be from AMD warranty.

 

**UPDATE** Since a CMOS clear, which I've done multiple times before seems to be okay now. Been 3 days as of writing this. 3/24/25.

So only thing is as well is I could never run expo on this board or PBO but other than that I'm happy just that it's working as it should now on stock.
