Hi everyone.

I have a very old PC and want to upgrade. Don't want or trying to avoid spending much money on it, I'm from  a 3rd world country so PC parts are  expensive compared to the US/Canada/EU

My current config is

  • i7 4770
  • dont remember the motherboard
  • 1tb HDD and a 240 SATA SSD
  • 8gb ram ddr3
  • nvidia 760

Games that I play:

League, Lethal Company, Hitman, F1 2023, Hades, CSGO, Minecraft, Overcooked 2, GTA V

Games that I'd like to play:

No Mans Sky and if possible (if my budget allows it basically) GTA VI.

I play on 1080p and not planning on upgrading my monitor in the near future.

  • My plan is to first upgrade everything BUT the GPU and in the coming months buy a used GPU from marketplace.

My questions are

Are the i5 12400f / AMD 5600 good enough? or should I go for AM5 with the AMD 7600? is it worth the double the price difference compared? (remember 3rd worldd)

This is build that I put together and want to know your opinion.

  • I5 12400F
  • Asrock B660M
  • Stock CPU cooler
  • 2x16gb Vulcan ASUS TUF Alliance 3200Mhz
  • 1TB M.2 Kingston 1TB NV3 6000MB/s NVMe PCIe Gen4 x4 SSD
  • Corsair 750W 80 Plus Bronze CX750  <- overkill for my current config but plan to upgrade GPU in the near future
  • and re use my case + some fans

everything here would be around $500, no GPU

what would be a similar config but for team read?

What could be the ideal GPU considering the CPU bottleneck?

Thanks!

GTA VI

literally everything is happening before gta vi so yeah dont expect that to be coming out anytime soon

what country btw?

and full system specs incase theres extra reusable stuff prefferably with a pic of the insides if you cant identify em all

prefer am4

12400f does have better ipc but its clocks are pathetic so it still loses to a 5600x let alone one thats been allcore oced to 4.7-4.8ghz not to mention used am4 cpus and b450 boards are quite abit cheaper aswell so makes no sense not to get the cheaper and better option

psu is not great and you should buy a used rm850x or equivalent as theyre cheaper and better

Any specific one so we can help you?

I mean solid plan but beside CSGO, Minecraft, and GTA, your games are all GPU bounded (except for Mendoza map in Hitman, that will be CPU bounded due to the vineyard and flowerbeds having physics calculation on the CPU). I would absolutely do this backwards in this scenario, get a solid GPU and PSU first.

Argentina, and I'm using compragamer.com, some fair prices there I think.

I don't want to reuse anything in my curret setup except case + gpu, my little brother needs it lol

I'd prefer not to overclock anythingm are the 5600G / 5600GT / 5600T / 5700 any good?

Yeah I agree that the best option is to upgrade the GPU first, but my PC is struggling to have league, discord and spotify open at the same time and when I check task manager its the RAM and CPU. 8gb ddr3 is very expensive and instead of patching things I'd much rather upgrade for general use and light gaming first then save some money and buy a better GPU

Welcome to the forums!
I would probably recommend going AM4 platform and getting something like a 5600G which will smoke your current GPU. Then, when you are able to afford a dedicated GPU, you'll have a pretty great CPU

ignore all of those they are all cezzane apus and guess what if you want any semblance of performance out of em so they dont just perform like a 3600/3700x you are gonna have to overclock them both cpu cores to 4.5-4.8 due to lousy stock clocks alongside ddr4 4400-4600 with ideal ddr4 5000

go buy a 5600(x) instead prefferably used or on aliexpress then compare the prices between it and all of these cezzane apus
