A problem or not on ssd

There is something i wonder for myself , i got my samsung 990 pro yestorday and i install there the game world of warcraft .

there is something i wonder if its my imagination or its a real thing , when i try to run the game on both 2 difrente ssd drives im getting the same FPS ofc ,

but the thing is even with the same FPS when i run the game on older SSD (sata ssd) the games feels moving smother like its not have a feeling that i have 70-80 fps its feels smoth, 

but when i run the game from the new samsung 990 pro even that im getting the same fps , the game feels less smoth .

 

i tryed to run both games multiple times to see if its my imagination tricking me or its real thing ,

but each time that i test it on each ssd the game with the sata SSD feels run more smoth when i move or move the camera...

i dont know if its a real thing but thats what its feels to me after many trys back and forword ... 

 

tell me what do you think can it be a difrences on how each ssd run the game ? or why i have this feeling after many trys ...

if you have a camera or phone you can just record your monitor , and after you finish recording you plug the phone/maybe camera into a usb on your computer

i'm not sure if you could see the difference like that , its not huge but there is some difference that you need to be on the pc to see it

i didnt install other games on it yet

I did fresh install for the game i download it from blizzard today , so i dont think its a game problem

Yes that is what it feels, I will try to look for this option on Windows, ‏the thing is when i tried ‏to search a bit for this kind of problem on google i didn't find anyone with the same problem as me so i don't know

i had it already the settings on windows for max performance also on nvidia control panel i change to prefer to max performance , but still same thing

Can you run crystaldiskmark, and crystaldiskinfo, and post screens from the two programs.

i must say aswell that im getting errors crash on samsung magician part of the times that im trying to do benchmark there, i dont know if its problem with the software or with the SSD

Can you try to force it in uefi, to run on pcie 3.0, and see if games feel ok, and samsung benchmark will finish while on pcie 3.0?

 

there could be communication errors that we can’t see, smart table from crystaldiskinfo is ok.   
ps. bclk is on 100MHz ?

bclk 100MHz is on the CPU bios settings ? all settings are on default on the bios beside the memory XMP.

not sure i know how to force it to pcie 3.0 but i dont see a point to run the SSD on gen 3 even if it will fix the problem ... i didnt buy the most expensive gen 4 ssd just to run it on gen 3

I’m trying to troubleshoot the root cause, it could be the cpu, it could be mobo, chipset, Ssd, or even mounting of the Ssd.
try to take out the Ssd, and insert it again in m.2 slot, see if it helps.

in uefi there should be option to chose generation for each m.2 slot you have ( in the better ones there is ).  what is your mobo, and in what m.2 slot did you put it in?
Swapping m.2 slot could also be smart, do you have a free M.2 slot?

i have x4 gen 4 nvme slots and only one on use with this ssd , i put the SSD on the closest nvme slot to the cpu , i heard its the best place to put it

Depends on the motherboard, in most of them you are right, and it’s m.2 slot connected directly to the cpu, and should be the best, but only if it works correctly.

I have seen people having problems that just putting out SSD, and Putting it back on again in M.2 slot helped. Sometimes it’s cpu related, as in cooler mounting pressure etc. 

 

for now just put it in the lower m.2 slot, and give us your motherboard model name.

Yes, the upper m.2 on that mobo is connected to cpu. 
we will wait for you to swap Ssd the the lower m.2 slot, and give us feedback, how the games feel, and if samsung magician benchmark is finishing without errors.
