My friend's "thermal solution"

I went over my friend's house 2 days ago. he turned his pc on and after 2-3 hours I start smelling a metallic smell. After I asked him what it was, he said he didn't know, but he knew that I started happening after he installed his new heatsink. After a while I convinced him to remove it and guess what... Since he couldn't find any thermal paste, he used aluminum foil. I never laughed so hard in my life. I know that the same thing is used in consoles, but it was just hilarious.

They used to in very old consoles, not anymore.

hmm i dont believe this as surly at the high temps without thermal paste, it should either shut it self down, but i think even the foil could start melting at that heat, or most likely burning! but it something non techy people wouldn't know i guess!!

It's a cpu architecture for very old dual core Pentium processors.

which really annoys me, if i were to choose one of the two it would be aluminum as it sounds more elegant, but i know you dammn chemists use aluminium and that's the correct way to say it :P.

you can use tooth paste and nearly everything, but it will dry up really quick and leave nasty stuff behind.

too bad because i'm from Norway, aluminum just sounds better that's all(to me it does).
