Should I get eh evga nex 650 for 60 USD?

Or the evga 750g2 for 90 USD?

I dont want to spend alot, i just want to get a PSU that will suport the next few years in wattage, and not explode like my curent one might.

The 650w. Things are going down in power consumption and that's way more than you need unless you want to SLI.

And its still a good PSU?

And not too loud?

Well, the NEX650G and the 750G2 is base on two different design, in which the 750G2 is vastly superior. In regards to noise, I've seen people people do complain about the noise of the NEX650G.

What are you powering and what will you be planning to power in the future? Any SLI/CFX configuration?

Well, since you are looking for a quiet PSU that's fully modular, a good one in the price range of the $90 USD is the XFX XTR 550w (no rebates). It would power your system and would be better and quieter than the NEX650G. The EVGA 750G2 is a good option if you like to have the option to potentially CFX.

What are you planning to power? 650w or 750w seems a bit excessive unless you're planning to cf/sli.

There aren't any great psu sales going atm.

If you really need full modularity: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650bbefx

If not: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/rosewill-power-supply-hive650

Woulfent the evga nex650 be cheaper at 60 USD? Any problems with it? Should I wait for a lower watage PSU to go on sale? How bad is my current one?

That's after rebate and it costs more before then so you'd pay a bit more for tax.

It'd cost about the same as the Hive in the end but I'd suggest waiting a few days for a good sale.

Your current psu is pretty bad but it works for now.

@spwath Extreme Power Plus series is very low end. Would recommend replacing. I believe the last time I looked into it, it couldn't deliver it's full rated power. Wouldn't recommend running a high end GPU off it. The NEX is definitely a step up from your current unit, but it's not that impressive.

Yeah, people say the 500 watt could only give 430 watts, and many people report sparking, popping, and explosions. I can't decide if I should wait for a better deal, get the nex, or get the g2

G2 > NEX, as quan said. If you want to dole out an extra $30 or however much it is, the G2 is superior. 10 year warranties aren't thrown about with crappy PSUs.

I think the nex has a 10 year warranty too

The Nex deal ends today. Should i get that now?

Save up for 750g2?

Wait for a better deal?
Get some other at least 500 watt fully modular PSU that wont explode?
Keep my curent one until it explodes or i need more watts?

Mate, you would hate that nex psu - it's just a mediocre psu and for 30$ more you get a topclass performing quality psu. Many people complained about it being too loud, G2's put your ear close to it you literally wouldn't hear a thing. Go with the G2 imo, no questions asked :P
