Issues installing CPU cooler

I'm trying to install a CPU cooler (Thermalright Peerless Assasin 120 SE) and I just cannot get it to screw onto the brackets (AM5). When I thread one screw, the other side raises too high to do the other. I tried loosening the screws on the brackets and all that. Any ideas?

i never had this issue,  you need to hold the cooler down while screwing it in...

also did you remove the protective plastic cover on the underside of the cooler?
