Beyond lost with what to do with all these cables

I really thought i'd be able to figure out where to put my cables using the manuals provided with my parts, but

after spending the last 6 hours going through the them, watching YouTube videos and scouring reddit/google for help I will now fully admit that I bit off way more than I can chew

 

I have managed to connect everything in Green in the image below, but I need some help understanding what to do for the purple parts.

 

Any and all help is appreciated, thanks for your time

Purple on the right go to the GPU.

 

Purple on the lower left go to SATA drives, etc.

 

That thing on the back is the fan hub.  You power that with a SATA cable, and it powers your fans instead of putting them all over the motherboard.

You got it right. The iCue controller (the box mounted to the case) is used to connect the RGB fans that are from Corsair or adapted to work with it. They plug and power into RGB header on your motherboard, another box mounted on the case, USB 2.0 header depending on which version, and then one of the fan header (see CHA_FAN header on the manual). Tell me the case and thatll help me significantly.

 

The pcie power connector is connected to the PCIe/CPU connector. This is what i got off RM-e manual, but again, specific Corsair PSU would help us significantly.

I just realized I forgot something in my picture, there are actually 3 wires coming from my fans (identical to the 3) of them that are currently connected to what you called the iCue controller (some parts were pre-assembled). Does that mean that I should just connect the other 3 that are currently unconnected to the iCue controller as well?

 

The case I bought is:   Corsair 3000D Computer Case with Pre-Installed RM850e Power Supply & SP120 RGB Fan Kit

Did that come with a splitter cable looking thing?  If so, you'll take cables from your PSU plugging in the 2 plug side, and the single will go into the GPU.

 

This should all be in the manuals for the motherboard and card.

It's an adapter basically.  You take 2 cables from your PSU box, plug them into the PSU and into the 2 purple ends of the Y cable.  The Y cable does NOT go directly into the PSU.

Thanks yeah I saw a video about that I think that says if I do it wrong I can fry my cable/motherboard.

Yes, for the GPU that is correct.

 

As for the fan hub, ignore your 3 purple arrows on the left side of the hub.  You may not have enough fans to fill it all, not a problem.

 

Did you get power to the fan hub?

 

That's all there is to it really.

nope not yet

Your motherboard manual tells you where to put them.  

 

Audio has a set place on the motherboard.  So does that USB one.

 

No offense but your pic even labels is in the lower left corner, near the Audio Codec.  

 

#15 and #9.  Plug them in and move on.  Seriously, I am not understanding what you're looking at to be so confused.

 

#16 has words on it to correspond to the Power SW, Power LED, Reset. Etc. 

 

This is ALL in your manual, are you even looking at it?
