I am looking to build a bench top display that has the ability of increasing and decresing fan speed as well as changing the RGB color depending on which input I give it.  At the moment I have been unable to locate a decent wire diagram for an RGB fan for me to figure out how to wire it to a switch board.  When I emailed the company requesting information they gave me the cold shoulder.  The fans I am currently using at Thermaltake TT-1225.

Has anyone ever built a simple controller that does not utilize a computer for fan control and RGB control?

To paint the picture of what I am building...

It will be a bench top display box that shows a basic Heat Pump HVAC circuit for our customers to interact with our controls.  I am planning to place a 120mm or 140mm computer case fan at the location of the outdoor coil and indoor coil as well as LED strips along the refrigeration lines.  Depending on which mode of heat pump you area in, I would like the fans and refrigerant circuit LEDs to turn Red or Blue.  So as you switch between heating to cooling, the LEDS will change color showing the change of refrigeration flow.

probably need to program it yourself like an arduino

if its rgb and not argb then you can do it manually too with knobs but if you want it to do a color per temp need to program it.

there probably forms, youtube videos, sites all about the arduino

a raspberry pi would be a small pc too poably it can do things too but i dont really know.
