do you mean you touched the wrong pins and you assume it must have shorted.. or did you poke pins and they went ZAP?

 

because afaik all of the front panel header is pretty safe to fiddle on.

Can confirm, my method for starting a system with a screw driver is just run it across all the pins until it starts because I'm too lazy to lookup the pinout in the manual.

Welcome to the forums!
If you got sparks off a front panel connector pin, something had already gone terribly wrong. Those are supposed to be running on 5V standby power. Did you smell ozone? 
Regardless, try to boot it.
