I have an MSI R9 280X GPU and in loads of games on the highest settings at 1080p i get 90FPS consistently,

I've compared the FPS to online benchmarks and they all claim i should get 20 FPS less than i do.

I play:

WoW

Battlefield 3

Dark Souls 2

Elder Scrolls Skyrim

Does anyone know why this is?

If anybody is considering a GTX 770 or a R9 280X i'd say go with the R9 280X for the extra GDDR5 VRAM that is needed for running lots of texture mods in games + more games will start to require more than 1.7 GB VRAM which would stress a GTX 770. Also the R9 280X has mantle which a lot of new games will start to use as the next gen consoles use AMD APU which will utilize mantle.

Amazing card, i'm super happy with it!

Full Specs:

MSI G43 Gaming

NZXT H440

Corsair CX600 Modular

Samsung EVO SSD 120gb

1TB Seagate Barracuda

G.Skill Ripjawz 2x4GB RAM

Scythe Ashura CPU Cooler

You're probably not running the same benchmarks as them.
