OK, so where should i start? I have an fx-6300 and a TPC 612 (performs better than hyper 212)

Im using MSI comand center, Which acceses bios, so i have all bios controll.

Stock clocks the Multiplier is at 17x, Base clokc at 200Mhz, Cpu voltage at 1.3660V. (total of 3.5 GHZ)

What should I increase, and how high?

Like i know i should go alittle at a time, but how muhc is a little?

When should i increase voltage?

multiplier to the moon

bump your voltage to 1.45v and start your overclock at 4.2Ghz, raise clock until it fails. If temperature limit is reached instead, lower voltage until it fails or temperature isn't a problem.

If you're asking this, I'm not going to bother getting into FSB overclocks, stick to multiplier.

Error: 410

The power delivery of your motherboard is not the best (4 phase, i think) so be careful with that voltages or you can over time toast your motherboard's PCB.

ok, its at 1.44 volts, is that fine?

I am not so experienced with AMD. A friend of mine has the MSI 970A G46 which has a similarly bad power deilvery, at least there are many threads online about it having a bad one, so i postponed overclocking his build until i have more time to read into this.

who cares...

Its been running for about 10 min and its staying at 50 degrees C. Is that good enough?

yeah its a low end vrm (probably 4+1), watch the voltage, maybe find a speed you like (4.2ghz?) and see how low you can get teh voltage before ti fails prime, i persoanlly test it for an hour, most overclocks will fail fairly quickly and itll be as stable as you need if it passes an hour, im ocd but i wouldnt run it for 6 hours like some people do, it just eats electric and puts me out of a pc for 6 hours...

it might be okay at that... im just saying, overclocking only has a few benefits, mostly in heavily threaded apps like folding or rendering...but if you was doing that you'd of been better off with an 8320, at 4.0-4.4 or whatever you'll likely never bottleneck, your voltage wont be through the roof and your motherboard and cpu will have a nice long prosperous gaming life :D

make sure to keep an eye on load voltage with cpu-z load line calibration can throw things way off.

happy overclocking piledriver buddy!

@spwath I would consider a new psu tbh (500 watt cheap cooler master (extreme power plus). You can get a high quality seasonic 550w for 26$ -> http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9

Just see it as an investment, that thing you have now would literally explode at its full load.

Yeah i relize that. The problem is, right now the extent of my money is the 10 dollars sitting on my floor.

So either ill get one when i have money, or get a loan from my parents when it explodes.

I want to get an evga 750 g2 for modularity and extra power for the future tho.
