Rate My System

Go to solution Solved by xToFxREAPER,

Seems like a relatively good system, sometimes you gotta work with what you can afford or already own 7/10 :)

So this is my second PC build and I got it mainly for gameplay recording and video editing in sony movie studio 13 Not a super serious PC gamer but I am getting into more and more. So here we go.

Full PC Specs

Case: Fractal Design R4 Black Pearl Windowed

CPU: Intel Core I7-4770K

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i in push as an Exhaust

GPU: 2x Sapphire Radeon R9-270x 2GB and Intel HD Graphics (Quick Sync Only)

Motherboard: MSI-Z87-G45 Gaming

SSD: Kingston Hyper X 3K 120GB (Main)

HDD: Western Digital Blue 500GB (Storage)

Ram: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB 1866 Mhz

PSU: Corsair CX750

Lighting: NZXT Premium Red LED kit 2m

Optical Drive: Asus DVD Reader/Writer

The 1st R9-270x was 230$ with BF4 and the 2nd I got for $100, so for the price of $330 - BF4 I say it was an epic deal. Do keep in mind that I did get the 2nd GPU around 4 months after the 1st

The SSD was only $90 normally ~$130

I7-4770k Was for video editing and well because I wanted it :P Sure could have got an i5 for what I do but why not spend a bit more and get an I7 :D

1st things 1st, Thanks to all the comments and options it is all appreciated!

So I thought that I should note a few things that I did not note at 1st.

This PC was built over the course of a few months and some parts from an old PC build that I had an A10 5800k

The HDD, Ram and a few fans were from the A10 build

The 1st R9-270x I purchased when I had my A10-5800k and as such I bought the 750w Cx750 Power Supply to support it for the time being. Before the R9 it was a 6670 is Hybrid Crossfire (w/ a 430w PSU) and the A10 did not bottleneck the R9 that much that worried me.

The only things in this system that we bought at the same time were the CPU, Motherboard and the Case. I did not feel that tossing a 750w PSU, A 500GB HDD and 8GB of ram would be a smart thing considering that it can very well be used.

The CPU cooler was bought around 1-2 weeks ago same as the SSD, Optical Drive and the lights. The 2nd GPU was just received today.

Overall the comments saying that "You could have built better" I say yea I can agree to a point but that is only if I has all money at 1 time.

Once again thanks for all the comments!

Odd combination of parts, but yet still quite capable of good gaming. 8/10

Yea could have probably got some different parts but the PSU was from my old build when I first bought the R9270x and the motherboard was in my price range and I love the design :P

Pretty good, not really an advocate of multi-GPU configs but I can't blame you for the price of the 2nd card. Overall, your build is pretty awesome.

Maybe just get a bigger hard drive if your gonna record and edit gameplay footage.

Can we has like one picture? :D

I would say 8/10 very good, but you mixed some low end stuff (like the PSU) in there with a great system.

Yea I wanted A PSU that was good for what I needed and from a good brand infact PSU was from an AMD a10 system and I bought it when I first bought the R9-270x. I have a 430w PSU before and I could not just toss a good 750w PSU so decided to use it

I'd change GPU, RAM & PSU.

GPU's are fine, I am not a huge gamer. Ram is So So but it runs and does as needed. PSU was from an oldish build and still very capable. But thanks for the comment

I didn't say anything's bad in that system, I'd say what I'd change to be better.

I'd go with one single powerful gpu (780ti/r9 290x) or 2 better gpus like GTX 770 sli or crossfire r9 280x, add more RAM, total 16gb & PSU something like Enermax, Seasonic, XFX or FSP with 80+ gold. That's it.

Oh and I will say I agree the PSU is not the best but it is not super generic and it is from a good brand., I just could not toss it and buy another one when it was completely capable. But yeah I can say though in the future I will be getting a better one from Corsair just unsure of one at this time and how much I will need to save

Thanks for the comment, I plan on 8 more gigs of ram and possibly a new PSU. But I would need to see a fair reason to switch to a newer PSU. From what I seen it is a good PSU but I could be wrong. But aside from the reasoning I am also wanting a red/black PSU sorta :P
