3rd monitor won't work

Excon
Go to solution Solved by Str_Mape,

Its a restriction put in by AMD unless you have certain R7/R9 cards I believe its 290/x and possibly 260/x it or a sapphire flex card the adapter has to be active .

Basically the issue is whenever I try to plug my TV into my GPU the display doesnt activate and I can't activate it through windows. If I disable one of my 2 other monitors then I can enable it. So why can I only enable 2 displays. My current configuration is:

Main 27"->DVI->GPU

Secondary 24"->HDMI->GPU

TV->HMDI> HDMI to Mini DP adaptor->GPU

For ports my GPU has 2 mini DP a DVI and a HDMI

Make sure it's an active adapter, if not it won't work.

Well that's really fucking annoying, I spent 15$ on it and it won't work.

I'm 95% sure it's passive. Why does it have to be active?

Because AMD is stupid.

There are reviews from other people that had the same issue.

Active adapters are typically quite a bit more expensive unless you get a very good deal.

I wouldn't of minded spending more if I had known. Now I don't care, I'll live with out it.
