Has LTT done any testing on UPS devices ?  Buyers guide maybe ?

so far i dont think they've exactly had the tools in house to do actual genuine testing on UPS quality.

Welcome to the forums!
They really haven't. There has been some tangential coverage on fat boy server UPSs, but nothing dedicated beyond their Eaton install, and nothing at all on consumer grade
If you're in the market, I have about a dozen Cyberpower 1500VA LCD UPSs deployed in my house, plus another dozen various friends are using, all with zero problems. 
Actually just did a battery swap on one recently. Super easy

Was hoping someone knew if lithium ups was long term reliable yet?

 

I've used APC units with lead acid for about 10 years.  They work but they won't recharge after a real usage event.  Have replaced batteries three times in around 10 years.  All they support are laptops and cell phones.
