I'm wondering if my Macbook Book Pro will be good enough for gaming on modern games, now it doesn't have to be all ultra settings but it has to be playable at around 40+ FPS, http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MacBook-MD104LL-15-4-Inch-VERSION/dp/B007471D2Q#productDetails This is what I have and my version has a 500GB hardrive and a 15.4 inch screen I also added 16gb's of ram. Before you say "get a PC" I already have one (in sig), this is for productivity and gaming, I will install windows on this, just wondering what other people think.

I was thinking you were going to run games on OSX lol. Being you are putting windows on it, it will do fine on lower and med settings no AA being it does have a discrete GPU.

I just put Windows 7 on my MBP because it has good enough specs to play games when i'm away from home.
Its got the same as the one your looking at, i7, GT650M etc

It runs Battlefield 4 on medium settings around 40-50 fps which i found great. Titanfall it seems to hit 60fps on medium as well.

Thank you Sir, all I'm looking for. Was worried since it's mac hardware and that it would run games terrible.

You should be fine with that computer.  Just for future reference though, as long as the average frame rate is below 60 fps, the average frame rate isn't really important; it is more important that the minimum frame rate stays above 30 fps.

mac hardware? hmm?

The 650m and i7 that apple use are the same chips that a gaming laptop would use

Its a good card too, expect medium in most games

@ShadowCaptain Mac hardware in that it's meant to run sox and not windows is what I meant the components like the CPU and gpu are great.

Apple intend for you to run windows on it with no loss of speed, thats why they include bootcamp as part of the OS :) I wouldnt worry about it

Alright just got a Samsung Evo, is their a way to install just pure Windows? Is there a place where you can get the motherboard drivers, or do I need to install osx and run bootcamp first?

Why not get the Retina one? That's around the same price, I think. This is the previous generation.

I've already had this for years just didn't use it because I used my desktop a lot but now I'll be traveling so I'll have to use it if that makes sense.

Anything with modern integrated graphics is enough to run just about anything if you are fine with putting the settings on low and lowering the resolution. Obviously this is not ideal, but its a concession you make if you choose portability over performance. I would make the same decision choosing a laptop.
