I recently had issues (after bios update) getting 6000mt/s on 4 sticks of ram so went to 2 sticks and still no luck. Reset CMOS countless times now. I can't get 5800mt/s or even CPU "recommended" 5200mt/s which I assume not much difference from stock 4800mt/s.

Motherboard is Asrock X670E Steel Legend and ram is corsair dominator platinum cl36 6000mt/s. I heard it's common for corsair unless this is false. I have got G.skill trident Z neo royals cl28 6000mt/s coming just to confirm for myself. Every time I try any EXPO or manual settings even with a full 1.3v SOC. I get a system slow down to the point of 1-2fps type of speed on desktop, freezing and breaking audio in browser. I have to clear CMOS to return to normal operation.

Sounds like there are two problems and it is best to keep them separate. Ram either works or doesn't. If borderline you get instability (crashes). Freezes are probably something else unrelated. To clarify, if you don't turn on EXPO/XMP do you still have the slowdown on desktop?

I'm running 2x 32GB Corsair Vengeance 6000C30 on mine fine so at least in this instance, Corsair is fine.

You're right two problems. As for ram yeah, mine just does not like anything I try to get over 4800MT/s so I guess I'm stuck at stock. 7800X3D anyways so not sure it matters to much.

I do still get the slow down/freezing sometimes just happens at random times but seems like clearing CMOS cures it for that day. Yes, no EXPO/XMP I still lag and get a sticky cursor when opening applications. I know it's about to happen a few seconds before when wallpaper engine starts to lags out.

For a little back round of this issue (since I built on CPU launch day) I used to get random restarts like lose display and motherboard restarts system with in a few seconds of that. Was told my PSU was bad (from my first build in 2016 so maybe) I upgraded and replaced. Seemed to fix that issue, now just resuming issues except the restarts.

Good to hear corsair is fine in that regard just like the blocky look of the dom platinums.

Hope that wasn't to long of a read. Really just fed up with this one system not working like it should. I've tried diagnosing everything I could except swapping motherboards. Hate draining my system done that twice already for reseating components and checking CPU removing kyrosheet thinking it was a little toasty and pasting instead.

Can you get one DIMM running?

Yes. I also ran memtest one at a time and on both and my other kits of doms too (same exact kits) passed every time. I know it's more of a faulty or defective test however just testing what I could. Ran OCCT as well for stability also passed. Installed new windows 24H2 with latest chipset after the same issues didn't fix much of course.

Corsair was known for not being very AM4 friendly and I had some issues.. Can't say for AM5 but I now go with GSkill or KIngston

6000CL36 isn't very good, "good" RAM is 6000CL30
