For some reason my current build has random lag spikes on BF3 which I just got today from origin.... I'm running ultra, which I think I should be able to, given my build?

Try lowering texture quality to high and msaa to 2x

Well something is wrong on the software side...my LAN system can run bf3 on ultra 45fps constant

When i had a 270x i could run BF3 at 80FPS on High and 65+ on Ultra.. There is something wrong with BF3, not your hardware

So what are you saying  Ishould do?

What drivers are you using? Is your PC in power saving mode?

I don't know, i'm just saying that it isn't your hardware, if i had a solution i would tell you but i'm afraid in don't have one. Also maybe try running Battlefield in x64 mode or x86 mode.

That's odd, but your system seems good enough, although BF3 is a AMD optimized game it should run fine...

Check if your drivers are up to date.

You can check/download from here:

You should be able to get 80-100FPS easy on ultra with that Rig. So the stutters/drops are quite surprising as the game doesn't have issues anymore and has always been running well.

You might want to clean install a driver and check the actual install of BF3, repair through Origin (how weird it may sound) could also fix it. And also something weird, massive downloading on the servers of BF have been causing FPS lagg. When there is a new DLC or Patch the server are likely to be lagging the first 24 hours. Dunno how they managed that.

Check CPU and GPU usage then report back.

Check for the graph right after it spikes (you cna enlarge it so you dont have to hurry, also increase graph data polling rate)

I don't think so, BF4 is AMD optimized but I don't believe BF3 is. I sort of recall that it ran better on nVidia hardware back when it was first released.

And yes, OP's driver is up to date, he has the latest beta driver......I have the same driver in both my nVidia GPU systems.

As for lag or framerate spikes, one explanation could be pings, I remember playing UT2004 back when it was release, and my net speed was crap......resulting in crappy gameplay.
