So after two dead asus r9 280x's I've decided to not waste my time with a third card before it dies and get a refund. I decided I'll go with a 770.

I knew asus is a good manufacturer but now I am afraid of buying DC2 design because I know it is shitty and the vram chips are not cooled in result I might get artifacts, or maybe 770 has different design? Anyway, here's the list of cards which I can get. I am still thinking whether should I get a 2gb or a 4gb versions,

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121770&cm_re=GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5-_-14-121-770-_-Product - Still doubt it's good.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125463&cm_re=GV-N770OC-2GD-_-14-125-463-_-Product - I know gigabyte for its reliability.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125462&cm_re=GV-N770OC-4gd-_-14-125-462-_-Product a 4gb version.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-POSEIDON-GTX770-P-2GD5-1006MHz-DUAL-LINK-GRAPHICS/dp/B00J9IHV92  An Asus poseidon card, what does poseidon stand for anyway? Looks sick, but for that price I can get a 4gb 770. Explain poseidon for me please.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741&cm_re=N770TF2GD5%2fOC-_-14-127-741-_-Product An msi 770, I've heard it has shitty fans. Worth?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500303 Zotac 770 4gb version, I've owned a zotac card before, it was pretty nice, what do you think about this one?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1YH1GW1099&cm_re=zotac_gtx_770-_-9SIA1YH1GW1099-_-Product Zotac 2gb version.

My pc specs though:

i5 4670k @4.4ghz 1.2v
mobo: Gigabyte z87x UD3H
Ram: Kingston HyperX @2133mhz cl11 timings.
psu: Fortron raider 650w bronze certified.

Sorry, but I'm not really a GPU specialist, so asking you folks which is the best and most reliable card out of these. Note, I cannot get an EVGA card in my region, wish I could.

the MSI is the most silent, and really the thing is, the difference between them is SOO small its better to go for silence OR for the one you think looks best, unless you are going for very high end stuff like the classified or the watercooled ones. but if you want those you should just get a 780 instead :P

I will tell you my experience with my MSI g-series card. The fans are NOT shitty, this card is almost dead silent.

But realy, any 770 will do, if i were you i would go for 770 lightning or a 4gb version.

@Etaeta The poisden cooler is a hybrid cooler for air or watercooling.

The fans on the msi cooler (twin frozr) are pretty good, who told you they're shitty?

If you're going above FHD then I'd get the 4GB if not then stick with the 2GB however I think you might want the 4GB for 2+ FHD monitors.

@Brazsty could you only quote the part that is important <--which is the point of a quote to be succinct and to show a small reference

I am running 2 monitors atm, but gaming on only one, a benq xl2411t, the other one is just for multitasking.

I can get the lighting version of msi indeed, but thing is, I want future proof card that will last and run games for approx 2years. So can't really decide whether I should take a 2gb or a 4gb version. The other question is, should I wait for a 800 series? I've heard msi fans kept dieing in reviews.

If you plan on playing watch dogs then get 4GB one or better yet grab a R9 290 for not much more.

I don't want to get an AMD card. Nvidia released new drivers, and I saw it outperforms 290 pretty much, though I had bad experience with amd cards.. Sorry just no. I'm not a fanboy though.

3GB of VRAM is recommanded for watch dogs ultra texture 1080p and many games will do the same in the future so 3gb minimum...770 4Gb is not worth it pick the r9 290 4GB instead its a muhc more powerful card.

this is plain bullshit the r9 290 is a good 35% faster than a 770, no way it would keep up with it in ANY games at ANY resolution.

The r9 290 compete with the GTX 780 wich is also 35% faster...

i hope this kid is joking about a r9 290 being slower than a 770. The xfx 290 is $369, $20 cheaper than the 4gb 770

the r9 290 is a much more capable graphics card and the gap just dig deeper and deeper as you increase the resolution...it has 4GB of VRAM and a 512bit memory bus...it has 2560 shader processors and the 770 has only 1536 cuda cores...do the math.
