Usb over wireless

Hello everyone. I am a automotive technician. I have a laptop that is used for diagnostic. With this i have to use a obd(on board diagnostics) cable that goes to the car and has usb type a that goes to the laptop. The obd cable gets powered via the vehicle its pluged into. What im looking for is a wireless solution that is cheap (under $50) that can stay plug into the laptop and send the usb data over wireless to the cable and vice versa. 

 

Note: the cable pluging into the car has power however if i had to rig power from the vehicles 12v socket that would not be the worst thing either.

you're gonna have an easier time finding a wireless OBD plug (there's bluetooth ones with an app) than you're gonna heve trying to find a reliable wireless usb thing.

 

also, if it's a cable length issue, just get a 1 meter usb cable, and a 3 meter extension (that way if the wire gets snagged, the extension and cable will come apart instead of snagging your laptop's port)

bluetooth wireless obd plugs dont have the capabilities of an oem software decoding device. the obd cables alone are over $700. i have thought about very long usb cables but there are times that i rather not have cables to trip over.
