SATA Cable Shortage

Hey Guys,

I am in the process of building a new PC. It will be my first time and I have done my research regarding the building aspect but have one issue. I will be using 3 SATA Drives (1 SSD and 2 HDD's). The problem is that my motherboard and PSU both come with only 2 SATA Cables. I could obviously buy more cables but since the PSU is a fully modular one I would be hesitant as I have heard there can be serious issues if the cables are not compatible. I tried researching and a couple things came up such as daisy chaining or using splitters however I have no idea how to go about it. I would really appreciate if you could help me in solving my problem. The links to the PSU and MOBO are below. I don't think that the entire specs of the system are required but if you do feel free to ask.

MOBO: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-Z790-TOMAHAWK-WIFI/Specification

PSU: https://www.msi.com/Power-Supply/MAG-A850GL-PCIE5

Help would be appreciated.

Did you actually LOOK at the PSU cables?  There are multiple connectors on each cable.

Also, just get the data cables off Amazon or any other seller, they're cheap.

You have a molex cable. You can get molex to sata power adapters for next to nothing.

edit : Also, what Dedayog said. Each cable have multiples connector on it. Not just one.

Thanks for the pointing out the answer. I appreciate it. That was exactly why I was confused in the first place because it had multiple connectors but it said 2 cables.

You will still need to buy a 3rd SATA data cable, unless you already have one.

There is a saying, "Molex over SATA, Lose all your data"...
