Watch_Dogs for PS3 or PC?

RolfOskarBgberg

So Watch_Dogs got released recently, and i haven't decided to buy it for pc or ps3.

I watched Linus video, and Luke said something about the system being ''extremely under stress''

Should I buy watch dogs for Pc or PS3, and why?

And if you say Pc, which specs should i run it at?

Some of my pc specs.

Asus P9X79
Intel I7 3820
Gainward GeForce GTX 680
Kingston 16 GB 1600 mhz (4x4Gb)

With your specs you can probably run it on ultra. And on ultra it looks amazing my friend! I play it with my 360 controller on my 32" tv feels like I'm playing console but just looks way better.

I was thinking of getting it for PC too but I'm just using an Asus GTX560Ti OC. Can it even run on my PC? If not then I'll just get it on the PS3

#facepalm question you got a beast computer. Might run a little lower on fps because of your highres monitor but still.

Get it for PC :) #pcmasterrace

Seriously? PC man, what is the point of having one if you aren't going to tap its horse power?

PC. And it bothers me that many people here ordered the limited and collector's edition for the ps3.

Show then how it runs on PC (maybe after some patches) and witness their faces.

If your GPU has less than 3GB Vram, you might have to run slightly lower settings (lower textures). But it should still look really good.

If you said PS4, that's worth considering. PS4 has a 7850 inside and is probably equal to High settings at 900p which isn't bad at all. Xbox one is a 7770 so it goes down in rezzy to even out!

PC!

PC of course.
Ps3 runs the game under 720p with low settings in 30FPS.
The Ps3 also doesn't have online freeroam and decryption mode.

  1. none of the consoles have discrete GPUs
  2. the PS4 is the graphical equivalent of a 7770/7790 - mostly in between (would be equivalent to a 7780 if such a thing ever existed)

I honestly thought that was the last time I'd see that misinformation

HD 7850 = 1024:64:32 , Bandwidth = 153GB/S , GFlops 1761

PS4 = 1152:72:32 , Badwidth = 170GB/S ,  GFlops = 1843

I was mistaken, more raw horsepower than a 7850.

You are talking about the Xbox One which is a 7780. Fill rate etc equates this.

Know your GPU architectures before disputing.

My 10+ years of studying GPU architectures, Shaders / Textures / ROPs / Bandwidth / Fill rates etc.

Since R7 260 = 768:48:16 (7780) I googled 'Xbox one R7 260' and this was my first link ...

PC is going to have way better visuals than PS3, considering PS3 is an 8 year old system. However,  the PS4 version isn't much different than the PC port, and considering the price per performance, a PS4/ Xbox One version is probably the better way to go IMO.
