I have an old 43" flatscreen TV that I want to turn into a DnD table so I can display maps, but I want to make it interactive.

Is there a way to add touchscreen functionality to the TV?

The 2 main options you have are either a physical touchscreen by way of a glass overlay you place atop (rather, adhere to the TV screen permanently) or an infrared frame. Seems infrared frames are the way to go for people who want to lay the TV horizontally, then place things on it, like you might do for a game of DnD. Neither solution will be as good as just buying a native touchscreen display, but they'll be far less expensive, and a great way to re-use an old TV.

Addin on to this there are a surprising number of old "smartscreens" being decommissioned for pretty good prices. It's how we managed to get a surface hub 1 55 inch for 450 and then use replacement pc mode to have a external more modern pc use it as a touch interface.

Good idea, I'll try and check out some of them.. I'm not sure if they're as popular here in Indonesia but maybe I'll luck myself into one
