Cpu 100% while using 5k player

Hello everyone I'm currently watching twisters and my cpu under task manager is showing 100% usage, and hpu is 30%. My setup for my htpc is

 

Amd fx8350

Gtx1060

1tb crucial ssd

32 gig ram

What video are you playing? Full video info?

 

If its decoding on CPU for something like AV1 in high resolutions that seems right.

its a very weak cpu,  seems about right... you can be glad if it run the video without hiccup...

 

if it doesn't you need either a lower resolution source or a much more modern cpu.

I mean that was a 10-year-old CPU that wasn't setting the world alight in any workload when it was new. Being able to play 1080P video was still a feat back in those days.

I've never heard of 5KPlayer before. Is there some reason why you use it instead of VLC or MPC-HC?

 

What codec, bitrare etc. the video has? The GTX 1060 has hardware decoding for VP9, H.264 and H.265 4:2:0 but no H.265 4:4:4 or AV1. Though even without GPU hw decoding the FX-8350 should have no problem playing normal 4K videos.
