I recently tried to get a mouse working, originally the scroll wheel was not working however after some cleaning it started working again. However, after that it started to move erratically when I moved the mouse. I then realized that it worked when it was not on my mousepad but it didn't work when on it. Does anyone have any idea how to get it to work on the mousepad?

Check if sensor (underside of mouse) is also dirty. Clean with water and microfiber cloth (do not put under the sink and start pouring water inside the mouse)
