Add another 32 gig kit of RAM if you're bumping into that limit, but other than that you've got a pretty high end system. Any GPU or GPU upgrade from what you've got now will be expensive and incremental at best.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Just been awhile since I did all the animation and 3D modeling stuff and mainly built this for gaming so just didn't know if it was worth upgrading anything on it for that stuff was all.

No, not really, unless you're running out of RAM.

You could either upgrade to both faster and bigger RAM, or just more RAM at slower speed, since 4 DDR5 sticks aren't as easy to run at full XMP speed anyway.

PC configs I used before:

  1. Pentium G4500 | 4GB/8GB DDR4 2133Mhz | H110 | GTX 1050
  2. Ryzen 3 1200 3,5Ghz / OC:4Ghz | 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz / 16GB 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1050

Any suggestions on good RAM kits? Like something that is middle ground or more towards the higher end?

Just start working. Only upgrade if you run out of ram. You have a TOP OF THE LINE computer as is

Other than an RTX 4090, I'd say you're still good. I'd wait for RTX 5000 series then consider if its worth it.

13900k has had some issues, so maybe jumping ship to a 9950x when that comes out (which just got delayed). If your 3d modeling program would even benefit from a better CPU enough to warrant it.

The only way to find out is to use the software for YOUR projects. Keep task manager open to monitor GPU/CPU/RAM utilisation.

I don't know Maya, but suspect you could have a tiny or very large model and the hardware requirements will differ greatly

Upgrade ? Upgrade to what. You're only a single generation away from current gen. Only thing better would be an RTX 4090. Are you even running out of RAM ?  If not, upgrading the RAM wouldn't be worth the upgrade either.

At least wait until the 5000 series of GPUs. Shouldn't be long now.

Was this post made jokingly?

32GB of RAM is extremely generous for most workloads, I use 3D modelling architectural software for whole hospitals and don't use 32GB of RAM.

24GB of VRAM is extremely generous for most workloads, and realistically someone 'just getting back into' 3D work probably isn't going to see that as a limitation.

They could have 40TB of storage, I don't see it listed.

AMD Ryzen 5900X

T-Force Vulcan Z 3200mhz 2x32GB

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

To what?
14900k is like 7% faster.
4090 isnt worth upgrading to from a 3090ti.

I cant read this as someone looking to upgrade, this comes off as someone bragging in a distasteful way.

It's as honest as the OP.   With his rig, those are the upgrade points.
