Im attempting to trick PSN's region locks. So far I have connected my PS4 to a VPN and I changed my time zone to Italy (where the VPN is based)

I am trying to get the Watch Dogs preload which unfortunately was purchased in North America.

Anyone have any ideas for preloading Watch Dogs?

It's gonna be 900p anyway. Set your network to operate on a proxy based server in Italy directly from the "bios" of your router/modem and then create another account Italy based and it will recognise the account as Italian thanks to the proxy. I've done it with Cod Bo2 which I bought from the Us and couldn't buy DLCs

If the PS3 is any indication, region locks are based on your PSN account. If you have a Japanese PSN account, you can access the games available on the Japanese store

Desert Storm PC | Corsair 600T | ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ | AMD FX-8350 | MSI 7950 TFIII | 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 | Seasonic X650W I Samsung 840 series 500GB SSD

Mobile Devices I ASUS Zenbook UX31E I Nexus 7 (2013) I Nexus 5 32GB (red)

Playstation doesn't actually have region locks in the "classical" way, so you can play games from anywhere no matter who you are. Theoretically, a developer or game publisher can use a region lock, but there was only one region locked game on ps3 (Japanese "Persona4") and I don't know of any on the ps4. (Be careful with Blu-Rays and DVDs tough because region locks still apply to movies.)

However if you bought the game in the US, with your US PSN account you can only download it from the US PSN Store.

If you bought an Italian version you can download it from the italian PSN Store.

All you have to do to gain access to other region PSN Stores is set up a new account and choosing whatever country you want.

Then to buy things on there you'd need a PSN card for the specific store, so for example a €50 PSN Card for Italy.

The easiest way to get those from outside the country is buying the codes online.

(But be aware that if a game costs $59.99 in the US, it's VERY likely to cost €59.99  (=81.77 USD) in Europe, so you're paying a lot more and i would rather wait another day than spend 20 bucks)

There is no need to use a VPN. The only thing you'd need a VPN for are the movies/TV-Shows on the PSN
