My computer was power cycling so i took it to a shop because I couldn't figure it out and I got the computer back and when I try to play heavy games the temperature climbs up to 80+ degrees and it used to not get above 60. I have an evga 1080ti hybrid SC2. Anything I should try before I spend another 100$ getting it looked at?

turn the PC on with the side panel off and touch the block on the card gently.  If it's vibrating then it's working

yeah it is, i feel a slight vibration on both sides of the card

Got nothing to do with anything.  Wouldn't cause a 20 degree increase.  I reckon the menders have had the cooler off for a butchers and borked the reinstall

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

That's such a lovely card man.  I hope you get it working again

well i dont no if the cooler wat taking off or not but if they rember it being cool with a room temp of like 21 and now its like 25 i guess that still not get a +20 thow...

wonder if the fan is running 100% still would not get a 20+ even if its not.

if I can find my thermal paste should I try to repaste it? never have repasted it before and I doubt the previous owner did. if so will the thermal paste I used for my cpu work? i think its arctic mx-4

Should be

Though if you or the prof shop never did it, thermal pads might need replacing too

But yea, i would try paste change first for now

This is what it looked like so hopefully this was the issue, forgot to mention but the fan on the card itself never worked, didn't before I sent it in, didn't after, is that an issue? My case is a corsair 5000d airflow so it's getting lots of air through

If the fan was already not working then that shouldn't be the issue.  Did the repaste make a difference?

So that didn't work, didn't even really help. This is bad enough I don't think thermal pads are going to change the temperature enough, any next steps I don't have the money for a new one
